    Introduction

    Teleprompt ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy covers the iOS and Android apps and the public website at telepromptoverlay.app.

    Information We Collect

    Microphone Data

    When you enable Voice Activity Detection (VAD), Teleprompt accesses your device's microphone to detect when you are speaking. This allows the teleprompter to automatically pause when you speak, helping you keep your place in your script.

    • Processing: All audio processing occurs entirely on your device
    • Storage: No audio is recorded, stored, or transmitted
    • Purpose: Solely used to detect voice activity for the auto-pause feature

    Scripts and Content

    Your teleprompter scripts are stored locally on your device. If you sign in and use cloud sync, copies of your scripts and settings are sent to our service so your devices stay in sync. We do not include script content in analytics or error reports.

    Subscription Information

    If you purchase a subscription, Apple or Google processes the transaction through its app store. We receive:

    • Confirmation of your subscription status
    • Subscription type (monthly or yearly)
    • Expiration date

    We do not receive or store your payment information, which is handled by the app store.

    Native App Usage and Errors

    App versions with native Insights enabled send a fixed, anonymous app-open event to Applifyer-hosted Insights. iOS and Android use separate analytics IDs. The event includes no script content, audio, account or device ID, typed input, screen details, or location.

    New app versions use Applifyer-hosted GlitchTip for crash reports. Earlier iOS versions may still use hosted Sentry for crash diagnostics until they are updated. GlitchTip reports keep a generic crash label, technical stack, app version, and environment. User and request details, breadcrumbs, and extra fields are removed. Performance tracing, session replay, and session tracking are off. The GlitchTip projects have IP-address scrubbing enabled.

    Public Website

    The public website uses Applifyer-hosted Insights to measure pageviews, referrers, standard UTM campaign labels, and basic page performance. The tracker uses no cookies and respects Do Not Track. It excludes other URL query values and hashes. We do not attach names, email addresses, account IDs, or script content to analytics events.

    The website also sends browser errors to Applifyer-hosted GlitchTip. Reports contain a generic error label, stack locations from our site, the deployed version, and the production environment. We remove user and request details, breadcrumbs, extra fields, and URL queries before sending. Session replay and performance tracing are off. The GlitchTip project has IP-address scrubbing enabled.

    How We Use Your Information

    We use the limited information we collect to:

    • Provide and maintain the app's functionality
    • Verify subscription status to unlock premium features
    • Improve app performance and user experience

    Data Sharing

    We do not sell or trade your personal information. Microphone audio stays on your device. Scripts and settings leave your device only when you use cloud sync, and are sent to our service for that feature.

    Data Security

    Locally stored scripts use your device's standard data protection. Synced copies are stored by our service for the account you use to sync.

    Children's Privacy

    Teleprompt is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

    Your Rights

    You control the scripts stored on your device. You can:

    • Delete scripts at any time within the app
    • Delete your account to remove synced data from our service
    • Revoke microphone permission in your device settings
    • Delete all app data by uninstalling the app
